Welcome to PDF Karlo. Your privacy is our top priority. This policy explains how we handle your data and protect your privacy when you use our app.

1. Data Collection

• No personal data is collected.
• We do not require you to create an account or provide any personal information.
• All PDF operations (viewing, creating, editing, merging, splitting, compressing, converting) are performed locally on your device.
• No files, documents, or user data are uploaded to any server or cloud storage.
• Files Storage: All created/edited PDF files are saved to your device's Downloads/PDF Karlo folder for easy access.

2. Permissions

The app requires the following permissions to function properly:

• Storage Access (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE): To read existing PDF files and save new/edited PDF files to your Downloads folder (Android 12 and below).
• Media Access (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES): To access images from your gallery for converting to PDF and document scanning (Android 13 and above).
• Camera (CAMERA): To scan physical documents and convert them to PDF using the Document Scanner feature. Camera is only accessed when you explicitly use the scanner feature.
• Internet (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): Required only for displaying advertisements to support free app development. No user data or files are transmitted over the internet.
• Ad ID (AD_ID): For serving personalized advertisements through Google AdMob.

Important: All file operations work completely offline. Internet is used solely for ads.

3. Features & Data Usage

• PDF Viewer: View PDF files stored on your device with zoom and page navigation.
• PDF Editor: Annotate and edit PDFs locally - no data leaves your device.
• PDF Creator: Create PDFs from text or images - all processing happens on-device.
• Document Scanner: Use your camera to scan documents and create PDFs. Images are processed locally and not uploaded anywhere.
• Image to PDF Converter: Convert JPG/PNG images to PDF with proper A4 sizing.
• PDF Merger: Combine multiple PDFs into one - all processing done locally.
• PDF Splitter: Extract specific pages from PDFs on your device.
• PDF Compressor: Reduce PDF file size locally without quality loss.

4. Data Security

• Your files remain on your device in the Downloads/PDF Karlo folder and are never shared externally.
• We do not use cloud storage, backup services, or any remote servers for file operations.
• All PDF processing features work completely offline.
• Camera access is only used when you explicitly open the Document Scanner and is never used in the background.

4. Advertising & Analytics

• Google AdMob: This app displays advertisements powered by Google AdMob to support development and keep the app free.
• Ad Types: The app shows various ad formats including Banner Ads, Interstitial Ads, Native Ads, and App Open Ads.
• Data Collection by Ads: AdMob may collect certain device information (like device ID, IP address, and usage data) to serve personalized ads. This data is processed by Google according to their Privacy Policy.
• Ad Personalization: You can control ad personalization through your device's ad settings (Google Ad Settings).
• No Analytics: We do not use any separate analytics or tracking tools beyond what AdMob requires for ad delivery.

5. Changes to Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted within the app and on this page. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the new policy.
